Bio
Aileen Dike is the Featured Artist for the month of July at City Lights Art Gallery. She was born and grew up in New Zealand. She has been painting for the last 40 years with a great variety of subjects.
Her paintings will take you on a journey from the Pacific coast, to the southwest desert, the inland mountains and lakes and the animal and bird life therein. Her favorite medium is transparent watercolor because of the richness of color and purity the transparency of the colors renders to the paper.
Aileen is mostly self taught but has taken advantage of learning various techniques through short workshops with several well known water-colorists. Many of her paintings are in collections nationally and internationally. She has shown and won awards with the Nevada Water Color Society, Pacific Art League of Palo Alto, CA The Boulder City Art Guild, City Lights Artists’ Co-op and was accepted into the Western Federation of Water Color Artists show when it was held in Park City, Utah, as well as other art competitions in Nevada.
