Biography
Ethel
Surany (Etel) began her career as an artist in 1996,
in Los Angeles, by studying watercolor techniques with
Ed Crimston at San Fernando Valley, California. Later
that same year she continued her studies of various
media with Marilyn Lazarus. From 1997 to 2001, she polished
her talents further with studies at Pierce College in
Woodland Hills, California. For two more years, she
formally studied with Rosa Odow, and continued to do
so until her move to Sun City Anthem, Nevada.
Ethel has been a past board member of the San Fernando
Valley Art Club, a member of the San Fernando Valley
Watercolor Society, and the Pacific Art Guild. She is
a present member of the Nevada Watercolor Society, the
Boulder City Art Guild, and City Lights Artist's Gallery
all in Nevada.
She holds a teaching certificate in multi-dimensional
paper art with Miju Lee and "Simple Painting"
by Frank Clark. Ethel teaches watercolor, acrylic, collage,
and cloisonne techniques at Sun City Anthem, JoAnn's
shop, and the Department of Parks and Recreation. More
recently, her art was juried in at the Derfield Center
exhibition and at the Las Vegas Fine Arts Museum.
